Brief guide to a compensation claim

Here are the main steps in a successful claim. They will be the same in an illness or accident compensation claim.

Less than 2% of compensation claims come before a judge to decide. Usually it is possible to get compensation out of court.

An experienced solicitor listens to your story and advises you of your chances of winning your personal injury claim
You are seen in person and advised on the steps needed.
If you decide you want to proceed a letter is sent to the other party’s representative detailing your claim
A medical report is arranged for you. With your agreement a value on your claim
In most cases maximum compensation is won out of court. Less than 2% of compensation claims come before a judge
If the other party won’t pay, just starting court proceedings often succeeds
If justice still cannot be obtained for you (rare) a judge will decide
