Brief guide to a compensation claim
Here are the main steps in a successful claim. They will be the same in an illness or accident compensation claim.
Less than 2% of compensation claims come before a judge to decide. Usually it is possible to get compensation out of court.
- An experienced solicitor listens to your story and advises you of your chances of winning your personal injury claim
- You are seen in person and advised on the steps needed.
- If you decide you want to proceed a letter is sent to the other party’s representative detailing your claim
- A medical report is arranged for you. With your agreement a value on your claim
- In most cases maximum compensation is won out of court. Less than 2% of compensation claims come before a judge
- If the other party won’t pay, just starting court proceedings often succeeds
- If justice still cannot be obtained for you (rare) a judge will decide
